The Kaleido M1/M2 Long Bean Temperature Probe (BT) is a precision sensor engineered specifically for Kaleido M1 and M2 coffee roasters. Designed to measure bean temperature (BT) accurately and responsively, this probe plays a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality roasts by feeding real-time data into the Kaleido roaster’s intelligent profiling system.

Essential for Real-Time Bean Temperature Monitoring

In coffee roasting, bean temperature is one of the most critical data points. It determines how the beans develop during the roast and helps identify major roasting milestones such as first cracksecond crack, and total development time. This long BT probe is positioned directly in the bean mass to give you the most accurate possible reading of what’s happening inside the drum.

The probe length allows for faster response times while minimizing airflow disruption. This makes it ideal for both smaller batch sizes and more precise control over roast curves.

Designed for Easy Use and System Integration

Like all Kaleido probes, this temperature sensor features a self-locking holder that lets you easily adjust the depth of insertion. This flexibility helps you fine-tune probe placement based on batch size or bean density, giving you even more control over the roast environment.

It integrates seamlessly with Kaleido’s built-in smart roasting software, allowing you to monitor bean temperatureenvironmental temperature (ET), and rate of rise (RoR) simultaneously. BT Probe Depth Adjustment (Technical Note)

The Kaleido Sniper series features a self-locking sliding spring probe holder, allowing precise Bean Temperature (BT) probe positioning without the use of screws or tools.

The BT probe is secured by a tensioned sliding spring assembly. To adjust, gently compress the spring, then slide the probe forward or backward to the desired depth. Release to lock in place.

Standard Depth: 35 mm insertion depth (factory reference)

Extended Depth Option:

For users requiring a slightly higher first-crack/burst-point reading, the BT probe may be inserted up to 38 mm, providing a modest shift in thermal response while remaining within safe operational tolerance.

This flexibility ensures more accurate thermal alignment across different bean densities, charge temperatures, and roasting environments.
